Morgan Stanley Confirms It Is Among the First Banks to Use DTCC’s Tokenized Services

Morgan Stanley has confirmed it has begun using DTS, the newly launched tokenization service from the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), to tokenize US stocks, ETFs, and US Treasuries on-chain. Other institutions using the service in the same batch include JPMorgan, Citigroup, Bank of America, Fidelity, and Citadel Securities, among others. DTS went live on October 28. DTCC’s subsidiary, the Depository Trust Company (DTC), mints tokenized certificates for held securities under the service, preserving original ownership and investor protection, while enabling conversion between traditional and tokenized forms and transfers to users’ digital wallets. To date, around 20 institutions have signed up for the service, which covers Russell 1000 constituents, major index ETFs, US Treasuries, and other assets. The service is integrated with the Canton network and DTCC’s private Besu network, with plans to expand to additional blockchains by 2027. Amy Oldenburg, head of digital asset strategy at Morgan Stanley, noted that integrating tokenized securities into existing market infrastructure will continue to guide the firm’s digital asset capability development.

Annual enterprise AI spending surged 5.4-fold to $177 billion, with Anthropic securing 55% of the model API budget.

Beating AI News Flash: Menlo Ventures Releases 2026 Enterprise AI Report. According to its estimates, as of September this year, the global enterprise AI deployment market’s annualized spending reached $176.8 billion, 5.4 times the $33 billion recorded last year. This growth is driven primarily by increased spending from existing customers. The survey shows the share of paying enterprises rose from 55% to 65%, while average AI spending among surveyed firms has jumped to 4.7 times last year’s level—compared to their original plan of only a 1.9x increase when setting budgets at the start of the year. AI Agents are a key driver of the spending surge. Previously, model calls were mostly initiated manually by employees; now, Agents can execute tasks continuously, call multiple models in parallel, and keep consuming tokens even without human operation. Data from OpenRouter shows Agents now account for 80% of the platform’s token consumption. The gap between model vendors is widening. Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google together hold 69% of enterprise AI deployment spending, up from 50% last year. For large language model (LLM) API spending alone, Anthropic’s share rose from 40% to 55%, OpenAI’s from 27% to 31%, while Google’s dropped from 21% to 9%. In the AI programming tools market, Claude Code and Codex together capture 70% of spending.
