US stocks opened with the three major indices diverging, as Qualcomm plunged 13%.

According to data from the BIT Stock Platform, U.S. stocks opened with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.56%, the S&P 500 falling 0.13%, and the Nasdaq down 0.8%. Markets are concerned that a U.S. "blue wave" could lead to stricter regulation of AI and data centers, weighing on tech stocks: Qualcomm (QCOM.O) dropped 13%, AMD (AMD.O) fell 7%, Micron Technology (MU.O) declined 4.9%, Tesla (TSLA.O) slipped 3.5%, and SpaceX (SPCX.O) fell 4%. Qualcomm’s slump was mainly driven by negative factors from its Q4 fiscal 2026 earnings report and guidance released on November 4. Its Q4 fiscal 2026 mobile chip revenue plummeted 26% year-over-year to $5.14 billion, missing expectations, while its QCT pre-tax profit margin fell from 29% to around 24%. Additionally, the midpoint of its Q1 fiscal 2027 Non-GAAP EPS guidance of $2.15–$2.35 was below market expectations; Apple’s self-developed baseband chips continue to erode its revenue, and the company forecasts the overall mobile phone market to remain flat in 2027. Though growth in new businesses like automotive and data centers is strong, it is not enough to fully offset the core business decline, prompting multiple institutions to lower Qualcomm’s price targets.

Hakeem Jeffries: No Impeachment Plans for Trump, Prioritizing Cost of Living Reduction

After the U.S. midterm elections, the Democratic Party is set to control both chambers of Congress. House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries stated that no Democratic congressmember has so far raised impeachment requests against him, and the caucus has been focused on improving public affordability and fulfilling its oversight duties over the executive branch. The public expects the new Congress to address practical issues rather than engage in political retaliation; the Democratic Party needs to deliver on campaign pledges and work to reduce spending in areas such as food, gasoline, housing and healthcare. Trump has said he is willing to cooperate with the Democrats. The Democrats currently lean toward prioritizing launching large-scale congressional investigations rather than immediately pushing for impeachment. Robert Garcia, the Democratic lawmaker set to lead the House Oversight Committee, said he will investigate the Trump family’s business transactions, corporate corruption allegations, and controversies related to the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Jeffries previously noted that the Democratic Party has neither decided to launch impeachment nor ruled it out, adding that relevant actions should be based on facts, law and the Constitution.

On-chain uranium trading platform Uranium Digital completes $16.5 million Series A funding round, led by Blockchain Capital.

New York-based startup Uranium Digital announced it has closed a $16.5 million Series A funding round, led by Blockchain Capital, with participation from Portal Ventures and Christian Angermayer’s Apeiron Investment Group. The round was finalized last month and will be used to expand its electronic trading platform. The company secured a $6.1 million seed round in 2025, backed by Framework Ventures; valuation for the latest round was not disclosed. Uranium Digital aims to bring uranium trading onto the blockchain, enabling institutions to buy and sell uranium while using distributed ledger technology to track physical ownership of uranium stored in warehousing facilities, seeking to overhaul the traditional nuclear fuel trading model that currently relies on phone inquiries, email contracts, and warehouse transfers. Alex Dymala-Dolesky, CEO and co-founder of Uranium Digital, stated that the goal is to build technical infrastructure for nuclear fuel trading similar to that of commodities like gold and oil.

Zilliqa announces transition to Ethereum L2 for regulated institutions, ZIL token remains unchanged.

Public blockchain project Zilliqa announced that its independent Layer 1 network, which has operated for nine years, has failed to achieve sustainable scale. The project will pivot to building the Zilliqa Institutional Layer, an Ethereum Layer 2 designed for regulated institutions. The network will leverage Ethereum for settlement and security, integrate vLEI-based identity and compliance features, and establish a permissioned market for verified institutional transactions—prioritizing institutional users before expanding to individuals and agents at a later stage. The Liechtenstein government-backed trust network LTIN will operate the sequencer and serve as a qualified vLEI issuer. Officials noted that Zilliqa will retain its existing partners, community, and native token ZIL. Token holders do not need to take any action at present; any swaps, migrations, or claims will first be announced via official channels.
