Bitcoin mining firm turned AI cloud computing service provider IREN has released its Q1 FY2027 results, covering the period ending September 30, 2026. Total revenue rose 66% quarter-over-quarter to $228 million, with AI cloud business revenue surging 182% QoQ to $200 million and boasting an 86% gross margin. Bitcoin mining revenue fell from $67 million in the prior quarter to $28 million. The quarter recorded a net loss of $263 million, down from a $684 million net loss in the previous quarter. Adjusted EBITDA came in at $66 million. The company’s contract backlog grew 22% QoQ to $20.3 billion; over $4 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) targets have secured contracts and funding, but due to client design adjustments and supplier delivery timelines, the expected delivery timeline has been pushed back from late 2026 to January 2027, and may be further delayed to February. Separately, after the quarter ended, IREN signed a five-year AI cloud services contract worth roughly $22 million per megawatt, with the client prepaying 90% of the GPU capital expenditures.

According to Bloomberg, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is reviewing a proposed rule amendment for crypto asset broker-dealers submitted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which seeks to adjust broker-dealers’ financial responsibility, record-keeping, and reporting requirements to clarify how the rules apply to the crypto asset sector. While U.S. crypto market structure legislation previously failed to advance in the Senate, the SEC is still moving forward with digital asset regulatory rulemaking. Additionally, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) submitted a proposed amendment to prediction market rules to OMB this week, aimed at strengthening protection for retail traders and clarifying regulatory requirements in areas including product governance, market design, and incentive programs.

Hyperliquid Strategies (NASDAQ: PURR), the largest listed treasury firm holding HYPE, released its quarterly financial results for the period ending September 30, 2026. The quarter posted a net profit of $620.6 million, primarily driven by $803 million in unrealized gains from its HYPE holdings, plus $12.3 million in staking and validator commission revenue. The company raised $911 million via equity financing in the quarter, allocating $785 million to add approximately 9.1 million HYPE tokens and $17 million to repurchase around 2.7 million PURR shares. As of the end of September, it held roughly 38.52 million HYPE tokens worth approximately $3.505 billion, with cash and cash equivalents totaling $254.6 million. As of October 28, its HYPE holdings rose to around 38.9 million tokens, with a combined average cost basis of $56.35 per token. Additionally, a subsidiary of the firm has filed an application for Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) registration. If approved, it plans to offer account services to U.S. clients of Hyperliquid’s HIP-3* licensed market, enabling them to trade perpetual futures under a regulated framework.

According to security firm Blockaid, the Reth execution client and its derivative op-reth have a state root calculation error impacting multiple EVM blockchains, including several OP Stack chains. Unpatched nodes may experience sync stalls or return incorrect state proofs (eth_getProof). The issue is a client correctness flaw, not a confirmed attack event, and no funds have been lost to date. Reth merged fix code on November 3, with patched versions including reth v2.10.0, op-reth v2.8.1, and Base node-reth v1.5.3. As a preventive measure, LayerZero has suspended off-chain infrastructure for some affected chains, leading to delays in related cross-chain messages, though no messages are lost. Some protocols have also paused deposits or cross-chain routing. Blockaid advises affected node operators and RPC service providers to upgrade as soon as possible.
