Owner of the Shiba Inu that inspired the DOGE meme clarifies: has no relation to the CATE token, and only endorses the DOG and COCORO projects.

Atsuko Sato, owner of Kabosu—the Shiba Inu that inspired Dogecoin—has issued a statement clarifying that a series of CATE tokens circulating in the market recently have no connection to her. She said she only posted a single update on Instagram earlier, but the content was later used without authorization by others, who then issued fake tokens under her name to create the illusion of a link. She expressed regret over the incident, noting that some accounts involved in spreading related information even include users with significant influence on the X platform. Sato emphasized that the only project currently officially authorized by her to manage her intellectual property is Own The Doge. She explained that Own The Doge acquired the Doge NFT in 2021, launched the DOG token, and is responsible for organizing Doge Day events, supporting charity, and managing her IP. In 2025, the two parties collaborated to launch the COCORO token on the Base network. Proceeds from these projects will be used to care for her pet family members and support animal welfare initiatives run by withkabosu, she added. She called on the public to rely on official announcements, remain vigilant against any unauthorized projects or tokens issued under her name, and avoid falling for crypto asset projects unrelated to her.
