U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs together drew around $2.6 billion in net inflows last week, marking their strongest single-week inflow since October 2025. This week, market focus has shifted to three macro variables: PCE inflation data, NVIDIA’s earnings (a signal for the AI investment cycle), and Federal Reserve Chair Waller’s first keynote speech at Jackson Hole (a signal for the monetary policy framework). Waller will deliver his speech at 10 PM ET on Friday, while July PCE data and the second estimate of Q2 GDP will be released on Wednesday. Mitsubishi UFJ strategist Derek Halpenny said in a report that the U.S. dollar faces downside risks ahead of remarks by Treasury Secretary Bessent and the Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole symposium. The U.S. Treasury announced last week it would expand its long-term bond repurchase scale, and Bessent may later release details on fiscal consolidation plans. South Korea's top financial regulator has said it will accelerate discussions on cryptocurrency legislation and plans to roll out the country's version of the Digital Asset Basic Act this fall. According to reports, the bill is expected to establish regulatory rules covering areas including stablecoin issuance, virtual asset service provider (VASP) licensing, and Bitcoin ETFs.
