Gold and silver fall to two-week lows as surging global bond yields weigh on precious metals.

According to Bitget market data, gold and silver prices extended their recent downtrend, as safe-haven demand for precious metals was temporarily suppressed by high interest rate pressure amid sell-offs in major global bond markets and a rapid rise in long-term yields. Spot gold fell nearly 1.8% intraday to around $4,370 per ounce, hitting its lowest level since August 19; spot silver dropped nearly 3% to around $64.5 per ounce. On the same day, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield broke above 4.75%, Germany’s 10-year Bund yield climbed to a 15-year high, and Japan’s 10-year JGB yield surpassed 3% for the first time since 1996. Markets are concerned that escalating tensions in the Middle East could push up oil prices and inflation, potentially forcing major central banks to maintain tight monetary policies or even raise interest rates further, thereby continuing to lift the opportunity cost of holding gold, a non-yielding asset. Going forward, markets will focus on the ADP employment data scheduled for September 2 and the U.S. Non-Farm Payrolls report on September 4 to gauge the Federal Reserve’s interest rate hike expectations and the future trajectory of bond yields.

ARB surged over 33% in 24 hours, with its market cap rising to $1.065 billion.

Per HTX market data, ARB has rallied over 33% in 24 hours, currently trading at $0.1149, with its market capitalization climbing to $1.065 billion. Earlier, Steven Goldfeder, co-founder of Offchain Labs, noted that 10% of fees generated by Robinhood Chain and other Arbitrum Layer 2 (L2) chains will flow to the Arbitrum ecosystem: 8% will go to a treasury controlled by token holders, while 2% will be allocated to development funds. This mechanism means the ARB token holder treasury will secure a steady revenue stream, with the relevant funds earmarked for ecosystem grants, buybacks, or staking rewards in the future. The Robinhood Chain ecosystem has recently boomed, with both DeFi applications and meme coin trading sentiment surging. If Robinhood Chain’s trading volume continues to grow, it may further strengthen the Arbitrum ecosystem’s revenue-generating capacity.

Driven by this news, GPRO already surged around 46% during regular trading hours on Monday, and continued to rise in after-hours trading, with retail investor buying pushing the stock price even higher. GoPro’s fundamentals remain under pressure recently; its Q2 revenue declined approximately 31% year-over-year. Morgan Stanley upgrades Robinhood’s rating, noting that the monetization potential of its existing users is being underestimated by the market.

Morgan Stanley has upgraded Robinhood’s rating from "Hold" to "Overweight" and raised its price target from $124 to $150, implying an approximate 43% upside from Monday’s closing price. Analysts noted that the market has increasingly recognized Robinhood’s accelerated new product launches and expansion of its potential market size, though the monetization capability of its existing user base remains undervalued. Morgan Stanley pointed out that Robinhood’s roughly 28 million users form an important growth foundation, and its new businesses like prediction markets are boosting per-user asset size, trading activity, and monetization efficiency. Among these, prediction markets have fewer than 2 million users, yet contributed $156 million in revenue in the second quarter and drove users to adopt other products. Analysts also believe that Robinhood’s derivatives trading platform and clearing house Rothera will further expand its distribution advantages and bring opportunities for infrastructure and third-party revenue.
