Goldman Sachs earns over $200 million in fees from its AI fund "Situational Awareness"

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated during a live stream regarding the platform’s attack incident that the security team is currently focused on identifying the root cause and resolving the issue. Based on information available at this stage, the incident resembles a supply chain attack: attackers likely compromised a third-party tool frequently used by Bitget, thereby affecting a critical backend system of its wallet service. Chen noted that the compromised service forged transfer information and invoked a signing machine to siphon funds. The incident did not involve a private key leak; according to current investigations, the possibility of an insider job is also low. However, she added that the final attack vector still requires further confirmation from the security team. She further explained that hacker attacks are rarely single-type, with a single attack typically combining two to three of six to seven different tactics. Citing Bybit’s previous attack incident as an example, she noted that the case involved both the signature authorization process and a supply chain attack targeting the Safe multisig page it used. Common attack methods against crypto exchanges also include private key leaks, smart contract vulnerabilities, insider jobs, and social engineering attacks.

Chen noted that the attack vector in this theft differs from those seen in prior security breaches at some exchanges. According to ongoing investigations, the hacker did not exploit a key leak to launch the attack; instead, they bypassed parts of the system to initiate withdrawals directly through the platform’s systems. She emphasized that a key leak would be the worst-case scenario, but this incident is not related to such a vulnerability. Given that the incident involves multiple cryptocurrencies and blockchain networks, Bitget cannot immediately reopen withdrawals. Withdrawals will only be restored after the exchange confirms all funds are fully secure and implements a more robust handling plan. Chen added that the platform has now completed full loss mitigation, eliminating the risk of further attacks; withdrawals will be reactivated once the security issue is resolved with greater certainty.

Crypto trader Ansem said he is growing increasingly bullish on Solana DeFi, calling it one of the more overlooked investment opportunities in this cycle. During the last cycle, meme coins captured most of the market’s attention, while protocols like Jito and Jupiter were still in the early stages of their token lifecycles. Ansem believes the market can now more clearly identify which protocols are emerging as core infrastructure for Solana. Compared to the previous cycle, the landscape of Solana DeFi protocols and their positioning within the ecosystem are gradually becoming clearer. He added that Solana’s low fees, fast execution capabilities, and steadily growing on-chain transaction volume further reinforce this investment thesis; as retail investors, institutions, and tokenized equities continue to move on-chain, Solana DeFi is poised to gain more room for growth.

According to Lookonchain's monitoring, crypto exchange Bitget has suffered a hack, resulting in the theft of approximately $351.6 million in assets. The hacker has converted most of the stolen funds on EVM chains into 67,982 ETH, valued at around $183 million.

Crypto whale "First Set 10 Big Goals" (@jasonleo) has updated his Bitcoin trading strategy, noting that when BTC rebounded from the $58,000 low in this cycle, he firmly targeted $100,000. However, he failed to accurately time the peak mid-cycle, missing a large chunk of profits. His current average entry for long positions is around $78,000. Regarding future operations, JasonLeo said he will start closing long positions gradually if BTC falls back below $79,000. If BTC surges rapidly to $100,000 in the short term, he will consider opening defensive short positions in the $98,000–$105,000 range to hedge against weekly-level correction risks. If BTC closes above $108,000 on the daily timeframe, the above short position logic will be invalid. If BTC does not rally directly but consolidates fully in the $80,000–$100,000 range, he will take defensive actions in the $115,000–$125,000 range.

Meta Platforms (META) shares have risen 36% so far in September, on track for their best monthly performance since July 2013 and approaching the $2 trillion market cap threshold. The rally is primarily driven by positive market reaction to Meta’s launch of its personal AI assistant, Muse. Investors view the AI product as a potential new growth driver, easing earlier concerns about returns on the company’s large-scale AI investments. Earlier this year, Meta’s stock came under pressure due to heavy AI spending, legal risks facing its social media business, and weak revenue forecasts, falling 18% from the start of the year. However, after the company resolved some litigation pressures and launched AI products like Muse, Meta’s shares have climbed roughly 43% from their August lows. Meta is expanding its AI product lineup, including portable devices for Muse and camera-free smart glasses. The company projects capital expenditure will reach nearly $140 billion in 2026, rising further to $197 billion in 2027 and $215 billion in 2028. The market remains focused on whether Meta can generate sufficient returns from its AI business. Currently, analysts forecast Meta’s revenue will grow 26% to $254 billion in 2026, with net profit rising 33% to $80.6 billion.
