Based on Berkshire Hathaway’s 13F filing as of June 30, 2026, it holds 78,791,167 Class A GOOGL shares and 27,188,433 Class C GOOG shares, totaling approximately 106 million shares. At current prices, this holding is valued at around $29.6 billion, a decrease of roughly $8.2 billion from the $37.8 billion reported at the end of the prior quarter. Additionally, Berkshire’s public data does not disclose an exact average cost for the stake. Market estimates put the overall average cost above $300, with some analysts placing it near $310 to $320. Using an average price of $310, the holding would show an unrealized loss of approximately $3.2 billion; at $300, the loss would be around $2.2 billion. Earlier, Warren Buffett himself confirmed that this investment was initiated by him and is now being executed by the team of new CEO Greg Abel.
