According to a Wall Street Journal report citing sources, the United States is exploring a new agreement with Russia to transport Russian natural gas to Europe via Ukraine. U.S. negotiators believe that natural gas sales will provide Russian President Vladimir Putin with the incentive to agree to an energy ceasefire with Ukraine.

Karpathy slammed YouTube's poor recommendation algorithm, having Claude build HackerTube in just two hours.

Beating AI Flash News: OpenAI co-founder and current Anthropic pre-training team member Andrej Karpathy grew frustrated with YouTube’s one-size-fits-all recommendations and exaggerated thumbnails, so he had Claude build a video recommendation site called HackerTube, a process that took only around two hours. HackerTube features 6,454 YouTube videos spanning 150 topics, all sourced from Hacker News tech community’s 20 years of recommendation records, not YouTube’s own algorithm. The site requires no login, is accessible immediately, and saves individual browsing status locally. Instead of creators’ exaggerated thumbnails, videos use a uniform frame captured from the middle of the clip. To source these videos, Claude processed roughly 43 million historical Hacker News comments. It first narrowed the scope via link matching, regular expressions, and other methods, then used Sonnet to identify video-recommending comments and filter out spam, finally curating the videos from around 40,000 valid comments. The entire project was built with Claude Code: Opus 5.5 handled data processing workflows, website development, and deployment, while Sonnet managed large-scale comment classification. Karpathy noted he did not write code or operate the terminal manually; he only manually applied for a YouTube API key, purchased the domain, launched the server, and configured DNS. The remaining work, including server hardening and performance optimization, was delegated to Claude. Karpathy disclosed the project consumed a total of 504 million input tokens (about 90% cached) and 7.6 million output tokens. Over 90% of the token usage went to Sonnet’s comment classification, while website development and deployment consumed roughly 1 million Opus 5.5 tokens. HackerTube is now live, and its curated recommendation data is available for download. Others can feed this data to their own AI agents to create video sites tailored to personal interests.

South Korean stocks opened lower but rallied to close higher, as strong exports boosted bargain-hunting buying.

On Monday, boosted by strong export data and the market's "buy-the-dip" sentiment, South Korea's stock market recouped its morning losses to turn higher. The KOSPI index rose more than 1% intraday, after earlier falling nearly 2% in morning trade amid concerns over massive spending by AI firms, following a downturn on Wall Street. Kiwoom Securities analyst Han Ji-young said: "The stock market has once again entered oversold territory, with fundamentals remaining solid and corporate earnings expectations also improving. October's export data exceeded expectations, raising the likelihood that the market will further revise up consensus earnings forecasts." Driven by strong global demand for AI investment, which lifted South Korea's chip shipments, the country's October exports nearly doubled, marking the largest increase in over 50 years. A survey showed that South Korea's manufacturing activity growth slowed to its weakest level in eight months in October, weighed down by weaker output and demand. South Korean President Lee Jae-myung pledged to make bold investments in artificial intelligence to boost the country's economic growth potential.

He Yi again responds to queries over "bestie coins" and project listings: There is no scenario where listing decisions are influenced solely by personal relationships.

Binance co-founder He Yi responded to rumors in the community, stating: "I do know Dovey Wan, co-founder of Primitive Ventures, but there is no such thing as a 'bestie accompanying childbirth' or similar claims. Even my own mother cannot push a project to list on Binance solely through personal connections. If a project manages to list only via personal ties, it indicates Binance's insufficient review capability. There are very few quality projects in the crypto space in recent years; BNB is one of them, which lives up to those who trust Binance, but crypto investment and trading never guarantee profits. The 2017 bull market where everything rallied was an era dividend, and few participants back then remain active now. The 2019 IEO was an exception, as decentralized exchanges (DEXs) were still nascent, giving Binance pricing power. After DEXs matured, Western VCs drove up the prices of VC-backed tokens, and everyone was happy. Binance has never actively resorted to unscrupulous means to compete for market share over the past years. Even when adopting defensive strategies amid competition, we have always been straightforward. If you think we have done something wrong, feel free to criticize us directly. Additionally, regarding IEOs: at that time, market liquidity was concentrated on Binance, so the platform had strong market dominance, leading to generally low issuance prices for new projects, giving participants the opportunity to earn returns."

Singapore's STT GDC Seeks $2.4 Billion Loan, Joining AI Debt Financing Frenzy

According to people familiar with the matter, as the artificial intelligence (AI) boom continues to drive debt financing demand among infrastructure companies, Singapore-based data center operator STT GDC is in talks with banks for a SGD 3.1 billion (approx. USD 2.4 billion) syndicated loan. The loan has a three-year term, with an interest rate 165 basis points above the benchmark Singapore Overnight Rate Average (SORA), and comes with an extension option of up to two years. The proceeds will be used to finance STT GDC’s assets. This deal adds to the wave of debt financing spurred by the AI boom. Such large-scale borrowing has pushed up bond yields and raised investor concerns, prompting the market to intensify scrutiny of overvaluation among AI-related firms. Data shows that global AI-related debt financing has exceeded USD 650 billion since the start of 2025. Moody’s Ratings projects that data center-related investment will reach at least USD 3 trillion over the next five years.
